HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

Today is the day women all gang together to talk about how we are better than men and plot their downfall  – with special emphasis on how we are going to reproduce once they’ve been eradicated.

Or not.

International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate women (before you start complaining, there is an International Men's Day) and our achievements, but also to draw attention to the inequalities that still exist in the world. A lot of people can’t see inequality in their own lives so don’t believe there can be any and don’t understand the point of something like International Women’s Day. I hope you aren't that short sighted but if you are...

Some statistics:

Women do two thirds of the world’s work but only receive 10% of the world’s income.

Girls are less likely to go to school – two thirds of the children denied an education are girls.

Domestic violence is the single biggest cause of death and injury to women worldwide.

1 in 3 women in the world will be the victim of rape or sexual assault.

Every minute a woman dies in pregnancy or childbirth because does not have access to medical care.

These are just the tip of the iceberg.
